About the orchard

Founded in 1985, Ragged Hill Orchard is a 14 acre farm run by Keith Arsenault.  Ragged Hill Orchard sits on a beautiful hilltop overlooking the Pioneer Valley.  The first fruit trees were planted here over 35 years ago, and now Ragged Hill Orchard boasts almost 15 acres of trees, as well as pick-your-own raspberries and blueberries.

Ragged Hill has been selling to colleges for almost 30 years and is accustomed to meeting the needs of institutional buyers. Owner Keith Arsenault uses Integrated Pest Management techniques, meaning less spraying and healthier fruit!

Ragged Hill orchard grows many varieties of apples including-Cortlands, Mac, Macouns, Empire, Johnagold, Delicious, Honeycrisp & More. We also grow Pears, Peaches, Raspberries, Blueberries. They are available for U-Pick and purchase in our farm store. Our Traditional New England and Heirloom Cider apples are used by Ragged Hill Cider Company in their hand-crafted heritage hard ciders. Our country store sells locally made apple pies, dumplings, honey and fruit.  You will find our store open through early January.  Our cold storage units help preserve the freshness of the apples for many months after they are picked.

Ragged Hill Cider Company is our award-winning craft cidery which features an on-site Bottle Shop and Tasting Room (open seasonally).  Made from New England Heritage apples and fruit grown right here at Ragged Hill Orchard, our small batch hard ciders express the distinct character of the glacial soil and microclimate found here in the Quaboag Highlands of Central Massachusetts.  Please visit Ragged Hill Cider for more information and to purchase cider online!
