About the orchard

Founded in 1985, Ragged Hill Orchard is a 14 acre farm run by Keith Arsenault.  Ragged Hill Orchard sits on a beautiful hilltop overlooking the Pioneer Valley.  The first fruit trees were planted here over 35 years ago, and now Ragged Hill Orchard boasts apple trees, pear, peach, and nectarine trees, as well as pick-your-own raspberries and blueberries.

Ragged Hill has been selling to colleges for almost 30 years and is accustomed to meeting the needs of institutional buyers. Ragged Hill is a UMass Cooperator farm, with various PhD projects in progress here. Owner Keith Arsenault also uses Integrated Pest Management techniques, meaning less spraying and healthier fruit!

Ragged Hill orchard grows many varieties of apples including-Cortlands, Mac, Macouns, Empire, Johnagold, Delicious, Honeycrisp & More. We also grow Pears, Peaches, Raspberries, Blueberries. They are available for U-Pick and purchase in our farm store. Our Traditional New England and Heirloom Cider apples are used in hand-crafted heritage hard ciders. Our country store sells locally made apple pies, dumplings, honey and fruit.  You will find our store open through early March.  Our cold storage units help preserve the freshness of the apples for many months after they are picked.

Our most recent addition is an apple cider donut shack! Our cider donuts are baked fresh every Saturday and Sunday and sold in our store.
